HOW TO USE THIS PROGRAM:

VERTICES-
Vertices in this program are large circles with either black or colored borders and white interiors that may or may not have numbers.

EDGES-
Edges in this program are black lines connecting two vertices

SELECTED VERTICES-
To select a vertex, left click on a vertex. A selected vertex will have a green border. To unselect a vertex click on another vertex to select that vertex or select anywhere that is not a vertex in the white field.

HOVERING OVER A VERTEX-
If you have your mouse over a vertex and have not yet selected it, its border will change to orange.

ROOT VERTEX-
You can designate a root vertex in this program. When it is not being selected or hovered over, if it has no pebbles on it, it will have a red border. If it has a pebble on it, it will have a blue border.

PEBBLES-
The number of pebbles on a vertex is represented by the number inside each vertex on the screen. If a pebble has 0 pebbles then no number will be displayed.

WINDOW SIZE-
This program opens at a window size of 700x500, you may resize this as you wish, but

MOUSE CONTROLS:

You can modify the white area by using your mouse buttons. The left mouse button is used exclusively for selecting vertices and dragging vertices, the right mouse button has a number of various uses depending on where your mouse is.

Adding Vertices:
To add a vertex, place your mouse over an area that has no vertices

Adding a Pebble to a Vertex:
1) If your mouse is hovering over a vertex
If your mouse is hovering over a vertex right click and the drop down menu will feature an option to add a pebble to that vertex
2) If you have selected a vertex
If you are not hovering over a vertex and have a selected vertex, you can add a pebble to the selected vertex by right clicking and selecting the option

Removing a Pebble from a Vertex:
You may only remove pebbles from vertices that have pebbles to remove
1) If your mouse is hovering over a vertex
If your mouse is hovering over a vertex right click and the drop down menu will feature an option to remove a pebble from that vertex
2) If you have selected a vertex
If you are not hovering over a vertex and have a selected vertex, you can remove a pebble from the selected vertex by right clicking and selecting the option

Connecting two Vertices with an Edge:
Step 1) Select a Vertex
Left click on one of the vertices you wish to be in the connection
Step 2) Hover over another vertex
Move your mouse over a vertex you wish to connect
Step 3) Select "Connect" option
Right click on your hovered vertex, and select the "Connect" option.

Making a Pebbling Move:
You may only make a pebbling move if the vertex you start the move from has at least 2 pebbles. You may only make pebbling moves to adjacent vertices.
Step 1) Select a Vertex
Left click on the vertex you wish to make the move from
Step 2) Hover over an adjacent vertex
Move your mouse over the vertex you wish to make a move to
Step 4) Select "Move Pebble Here" option
Right click on your hovered vertex and select the "Move Pebble Here" option, the program will automatically change the pebbling numbers on these vertices for you.

Removing a Vertex
1) If your mouse is hovering over a vertex
If your mouse is hovering over a vertex right click and the drop down menu will feature an option to remove the vertex
2) If you have selected a vertex
If you are not hovering over a vertex and have a selected vertex, you can remove a vertex from the selected vertex by right clicking and selecting the option.

Moving Vertices around
To move a vertex around, click and drag on it.

SIDE BUTTONS:

Undo Action -
Most actions you perform on the white field that modify the graph are preserved as you run the program, to undo actions you may click the Undo Action button and it will revert to the previous change before this one. This button is greyed out if there are no changes to revert.

Remove Vertex -
You may remove a vertex by first selecting a vertex and clicking this button. This button is unusable if you have no vertex selected.

Remove All Vertices -
This button will completely clear your white field, as it will remove vertices, edges, pebbles, and root designations.

New Graph -
This button will ask you to specify a number of vertices, and will then configure that many vertices in a circle configuration on the screen. It will remove any vertices/edges/pebbles/roots you have designated before using this button.

Designate/Undesignate Root
If you are selecting a vertex, you may designate it as the root vertex by clicking this button. While a root is designated you may select another vertex you wish to be root by selecting that vertex and clicking the Designate Root button. If you have no vertex selected it is possible to undesignate a vertex as root by clicking this button. This button is “greyed out” if there is no possible action it can perform.

Connect All Vertices
This button will turn your graph into a clique

Add Pebbles
If you have selected a vertex, clicking this button will allow you to add a variable number of pebbles to that vertex by inputting a keyboard value to a dialog that will appear.

Remove Pebbles
If you have selected a vertex, clicking this button will allow you to remove a variable number of pebbles from that vertex by inputting a keyboard value to a dialog that will appear. If your number is over the number of pebbles on that vertex it will set the number of pebbles on that vertex to 0.

Clear Pebbles
This button will remove all pebbles on a vertex you have selected, setting the total number of pebbles on that vertex to 0.

Clear All Pebbles
This button will remove all pebbles on all vertices, giving you a blank slate to work with.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not place too many vertices or too many edges, while it is possible to place 50000 vertices on the screen or create a clique of size 500, your computer will probably experience serious slowdown.

While you can designate a root, the root designation will not be preserved when you save the file.

The number of pebbles on a vertex only looks good as long as that number is between 1 and 99, if the number of pebbles on a vertex is greater than 100 the number will show

You cannot remove specific edges in this program. If you wish to remove an edge, either use the undo button to undo the edge creation, or remove a vertex that the edge connects to, the edge will then disappear.

Clicking and dragging pebbles to move them around will not be recorded by the undo function, so if you do not like how you moved a vertex around, move it back. Undoing that action may cause it to move back but other things will also disappear.

You can create graphs on a large window size and then shrink the window and be unable to see the entire graph.
