Vicki-Lynn Holmes

Greetings,

As a joint appointee of the national and social sciences, I participate in the scholarly blend of Mathematics and Education. As such, my research focuses on the pedagogy of teaching mathematics and the statistical underpinnings that allow research to drive instruction. This includes Item Reponses Theory, Hierarchical Linear Modeling and the pedagogical content knowledge that enhances teaching mathematics for conceptual understanding.

Professionally, I am serving as the regional director of Michiganís National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). I am conducting Teaching Algebra Concepts through Technology (TACT2) workshops for the Ottawa Area ISD and creating a common data warehouse where teachers can readily access student information to assist in monitoring and tailoring instruction and effective interventions Currently, I teach Math 210 Introductory Statistics and Math 323 Secondary Mathematics Methods.
