Name: Coffee Bean Moisture

Abstract: One of the monitored quality characteristics of coffee beans is the moisture content.  High moisture content can be evidence of water seepage into the container during shipment, which can result in beans that are contaminated, are fermented, or have unacceptable levels of mold.  The target value for moisture is 11.5%, and the maximum acceptable value is 13.5%.  Four samples were taken from each of the 35 containers that were unloaded off the freighter.

Variables (column):

  1. Container (1-35)
  2. Moisture content % of sample 1
  3. Moisture content % of sample 2
  4. Moisture content % of sample 3
  5. Moisture content % of sample 4

Possible Uses: ANOVA
