Name: Gas Mileage Data

Abstract: This experiment looked at the question if there really is a difference between the two grades of gasoline?  This experiment is designed to test the differences in gas mileage between regular and premium gas.  The data was collected using the same vehicle, driving the same route, on a separate day for each gas type.  Prior to starting the set of trials, the gas tank was filled with the desired fuel.  Between each trial, the tank was refilled and the amount of gas added was recorded.

Variables (column):

  1. Octane (Gas Type of 87 or 93)
  2. Premium (0=87, 1=93)
  3. MPG (Miles Per Gallon)
  4. Average Speed (per trial)
  5. Stops (Number of times the car stopped)
