Name: Sewage

Abstract: One way to monitor inflow-infiltrations of rain water in sewages is to install a flow meter in a sewer manhole.  Too much inflow-infiltration of rain water can strain the capacity of sewage-treatment facilities.  Westchester County, New York performed a Sewer System Evaluation Determination Study that monitored infiltration in thousands of sewer manholes throughout the county.  Data was collected at one location over a 30-day period.

Variables (column):

  1. Day (1-30)
  2. Mean Flow (mD) (flow was recorded each hour for 24 hours)
  3. Range of Flow
  4. Standard Deviation of Flow
  5. Rainfall (inches)

Possible Uses: Correlation
