The data set gives information about the length of the gestation period
(in weeks) and the weight (in ounces) of 200 babies born in North
Carolina.

gives body temperature for 130 individuals along with gender and heart

Weights, in grams, of various small "fun-size" candy bars are given.

checkout times for self scanning of items versus the traditional
employee checkout.

Heights. This data set includes the heights, in centimeters,
for boys and girls at ages 2, 9, and 18.
- Coffee.
The weights of of ten "half pound bags" of hazelnut coffee are
given.
- Coins.
The years of pennies and quarters collected from a statistics class in
1999
are given.
- Cuckoo.
This data set contains the length of cuckoo eggs that were found in
nests of various other host birds.
- Fast
Food. A comparison between the times people took to go
through the drive thrus at two fast food restaurants.
- Ford Escort. This data set
contains the year, mileage, and price of used Ford Escorts.
- Health Dy. Weights, heights,
underwater weights, etc. from health dynamics students at Hope.
- Heights.
The heights of students, in inches, from Hope College are given.
- Hot Dog. A look at the proportion
of males and females that eat at Gregordog and the number of hot dogs
ordered.
- Girl Scout Cookies. A
distribution of the types of cookies sold by a Brownie troop.
- Lions
and Snowfall. This data shows an interesting relationship
between the amount of snowfall (in inches) in Grand Rapids, Michigan
and the winning percentage for the Detroit Lions.
- Mile Run.
The data set gives the winning time, in seconds, for the mile
run. The year in which occurred, the name of the runner, and the
runner's nationality are also given.
- Milk. A comparison between the type
of milk male and female college students drink.
- Miss America. The height and
weight of the Miss America winners.
- M&Ms. The colors of M&Ms from many
packages.
- Old
Faithful. The time between eruptions and the duration of 222
different
eruptions of Old Faithful Geyser are given.
- Pennies.
This data set includes the dates of pennies that were collected in 2001.
- Predicted
Tests. Self-predicted test scores and actual test scores from
a math class are shown.
- Restroom. The time it took males
and females to use the restroom at a mall.
- Robert
Wadlow. The age and height of Robert Wadlow, the tallest
person in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records,
is given.
- Tea.
The weights
of two different kinds of tea bags, in grams, are given.
- Tests I.
For 46 randomly chosen students, the scores from two statistics tests
are given.
- Tests II.
Two independent samples of scores from two statistics tests are given.
- Textbooks.
The total costs of textbooks purchased by students taking a math for
elementary teachers course are shown.
- Timed tests. The time it took
students in a general education mathematics class to take a test and
the score on the test.
- SAT scores.
The mean salaries of public school teachers, the mean scores for the
SAT, and the percent of students that took the test for each state are
given.
- Sheets. A look at how often Hope
students change their sheets.
- Sleep. Reported average sleep times
for Hope students.
- Stop. The proportion of times males
and females came to a complete stop at stop signs.
- Tennis shoes. The
proportions of Hope men and women that wear tennis shoes.
- Time. The amount of time clocks in
college classrooms are off from that of the time at a U.S. government
Web site.
- Turkey. A comparison between those
that like white meat with those that prefer dark on a turkey.
- TV commercials. A look at
the type of TV commercial and which gender was primarily targeted.
- Wash Hands. The proportion of
males and females that washed their hands after using the rest room.
- Yahtzee. The observed frequencies
of the results from 100 "tosses" of five dice on an electronic
hand-held Yahtzee game.
