It is Sunday, August 16. Today I was baptized by Rev. Kathy Davelaar. She is the minister who performed the "marriage celebration" of Mom and Dad here in Holland. Grandpa Awad married them in Bethlehem. Grandma and Grandpa Tanis were the attending elders for my baptism. I had a pacifier in my mouth when Rev. Davelaar took me. I decided to get rid of the pacifier and it became a "holy pacifier by immersion." In case you cannot see it in this picture, look at the next picture.
Here is my holy pacifier.

Uncle Joel sang after William David Bast and I were baptized. I wish you could have heard him. You can at least read the words below.

VOCAL SOLO by Uncle Joel, written by L. Walker

You created their inmost being
Knit them together in the secret place
And I praise you
For they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Something stirs me when I look in their eyes.
Sometimes I wonder if they see beyond.
Can they hear you?
Can they feel your arms around them when they cry
I wonder.

Father, I thank you now
For all of the wonder of a child.
I see your sparkle in their eyes.
And on my knees I pray,
I pray that they know you some day.

Simple pleasures bring smiles to their faces.
They don't know how much they're teaching us.
And I'm hopeful
That maybe someday they can say the same of us.

Give us wisdom far beyond our years.
For we are building for eternity
A cathedral
That is fearfully and wonderfully made,
Wonderfully made.

Some of you have asked about my family. Here is a picture of my Holland family. Grandma fixed a big Sunday dinner for us.
